Cannabutter is pretty simple to make and an effective way to reap the benefits of your cannabis without smoking the flower. Though it can get a little tricky, you must first start with activating its psychoactive potential, the flower must be heated slowly at a low temperature.
Step 1: Preheat you oven to 220°-235° Fahrenheit. Step 2: Evenly spread your bud on a cooking sheet/tray. Step 3: Once oven is preheated, place cooking tray with herb in the oven for about 30-45 minutes. (This is what's know as the decarboxylation process) *Decarboxylation is the process of heating marijuana to turn the THC-A to the psychoactive THC and the CBD in the plant. The "decarbing" process ensures that marijuana’s psychoactive compounds are released and available. This also happens naturally when you smoke or vape the plant, but when ingesting marijuana, decarbing should be a first step for the best effects.
Step 4: Once Herb is finished baking, set and let cool down.
Step 5: Add four 4oz Sticks of butter = (1lb) to the crock pot on med-high and let melt. Step 7: Add Herb and Lecithin to cheesecloth being sure to tie tightly so no herb escapes the cheesecloth.
Step 8: Once butter is melted, place cheesecloth and it's contents inside crockpot with butter and let cook for 3-4 hours. Step 9: Strain and remove cheesecloth from butter filtering out any excess herb from butter, then pour into desired storage container. Step 10: Ready to serve. (Good Bud'a)
*Place cannabutter filled container in the fridge to store until ready to use. Put any extra containers of butter into the freezer for longer storage until ready to use.
